The journey and mission of bringing Vietnamese culture to the world
The Vietnam Film Week kicks off the series of events “Vietnam – The Symphony of Love”, a project born from the aspirations of Vietnamese experts who wish to introduce the richness of Vietnamese culture to international audiences through the arts. That aspiration is a long journey, gathered and joined by many intellectuals who not only work in the field of culture and art. They are different in profession and social position, but have one thing in common: the same aspiration to bring Vietnamese culture and art beyond borders.
The Vietnam Film Week in Paris marks the beginning of that inspired journey. Cinema, with its universal and powerful language, serves as a bridge through which Vietnamese filmmakers share stories about their homeland with the world – stories of a nation whose cinema has journeyed from the shadows of war to the global stage of major film festivals.
A portrait of Vietnamese cinema will be vividly drawn during the Film Week in Paris, from December 5 to 12, 2025.

How is the portrait of Vietnamese cinema portrayed? It can be said that this is a portrait that clearly depicts the history of protecting and developing the country of the Vietnamese nation. War and the complex issues of a country emerging from war are a large subject area, but not only that, young Vietnamese filmmakers in recent years have made that portrait more colorful, richer, and integrated into the general picture of global cinema.

The crew of Vietnamese filmmakers has grown stronger over the years - that can be seen in "the journey of light". That growth is reflected through the films, works and awards achieved.

2025 marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of Cinema in Paris by the Lumière brothers. 2025 also marks the 50th anniversary of Vietnam becoming a country where Cinema has developed diversely in its independence. Bringing Vietnamese cinema to the country where Cinema was born with a diverse collection of films is a gift that Vietnamese filmmakers give to the French cinema-loving public, marking a milestone in cooperation between Vietnam and France.
